Play Freecell Solitaire Online
Welcome to Freecell, a unique and highly strategic version of Solitaire. Unlike Klondike, all 52 cards are dealt face-up from the start, making it a game of perfect information and skill rather than luck. Your goal is to move all cards to the foundation piles by carefully using the four "free cells" as temporary storage.
About Freecell Solitaire
Freecell is a favorite among puzzle enthusiasts because nearly every deal is winnable with the right strategy. The challenge lies in planning your moves several steps ahead to avoid getting stuck. It's an excellent game for improving foresight, problem-solving, and logical thinking.
How to Play Freecell Solitaire
The object of Freecell is to build up the four foundation piles, one for each suit, in ascending order from Ace to King.
- The Foundations: Located at the top right, these are where you build your suited stacks from Ace to King (A, 2, 3... K).
- The Tableau: The game starts with all 52 cards dealt face-up into eight columns. Within the tableau, you can move cards on top of each other in descending order and alternating colors (e.g., a Red 9 on a Black 10).
- The Free Cells: The four empty slots at the top left are the "free cells." Each can hold one card at a time. Use them strategically to temporarily move cards that are blocking others.
- Moving Cards: You can move the top card of any tableau column or any card from a free cell. You can also move an entire sequence of cards between tableau columns, but the number of cards you can move at once depends on the number of empty free cells and empty tableau columns you have.
- Empty Columns: An empty tableau column can be filled with any card or sequence of cards.
